Nishitetsu Inn Kokura

It locates 5 blocks from JR station and 3 block from a mall, mall is connected to JR station by a half open bridge. Also within 10 min to the historic shopping street, plus not many hotel has hot bath near the JR station.

This is very personal - The color and mode of the hotel are so dark, so business, it makes feel like to work, just no energy. Being a tourist with a baby staying looks bored.

Convenient location from the JR Kokura Station (the back entrance is convenient to get to the station) and the hot spring bath.

The entrance hall is a little messy and less attractive as compared to the rest of the hotel. It is more of an average business hotel for one night stay. Not so relaxing for family.

Public bath was available to enjoy. The reception staff was helpful. Good variety of breakfast. Only a few minutes to Kokura station which had many train connections including Shikansen.

It was clean.

I have stayed at a lot nicer hotels for cheaper rates. Online shows air conditioning, but they do not offer that service in the rooms.

Good location in City and near to Kokura catsle and also nice to access Eating and drinking place.

Great location close to the Kokura rail sation, friendly staff and easy check-in and -out. The Japanese-style breakfast is tasty. I also like the public bath for relaxation.

I had booked two non-smoking rooms, but both were slightly smelly like smoking rooms.

The breakfast has quite a wide selection of food but the quality was rather mediocre.

Located about 7 mins from Kokura station, 5 mins to the food and shopping belt.Love that it has an onsen which you can use daily. Available from early morning but it has a break, and available again after 3pm. Also, they provide free holding of your luggage till your check in time. Room size reasonable and bed size was good.

It is very strict with check in time which is 3pm. So if you reach Kokura early with a red eye flight, you have no place to rest/nap, although they do have some cushion seats at the lobby. So for those who have JR pass, suggest you just book yourself on a reserve seat on a bullet train or express train eg nozomi and just travel somewhere and back, its comfortable enough to get some sleep or rest.

Definitely exceeded expectations. Nishitetsu was within walking distance of Kokura train station. The onsen won us over. It had a hot pool, cold pool and sauna. Also walking distance to Kokura castle and a whole alley of restaurants. We did a day-trip to Mojiko to visit the Karato seafood market since accommodations were more affordable in Kokura.Bonus: THERE IS MISTER DONUT AT THE STATION!! lol

Check-in is strictly at 1500, there is a charge if you check in any earlier than this. About Kokura station: Escalators are not clearly visible when it is crowded with tourists, but we found a shortcut via the mall (Go down one floor and out the exit).

Convenience and Clean. The hotel located near kokura station and easy to find out. The staff delivered a good service.

A staff on the front counter didn’t speak decent Japanese that made me confuse to manipulate the self-check-in machine.

If you have big luggage it is not convenient to walk from Kokura station to the hotel, room is small for 2 persons

Nothing but just like standard city hotel, room space is limited. The bed is more on the harder side which might be good for people with spine issue.

The parking was convenient, and it was 700yen for 1 night.The hotel is also located near to the JR Kokura station with many food options nearby.The room was bigger than your average Japanese hotel and it was comfortable.The public bath was new, with a hot pool, cold pool and a sauna.

The Onsen was a lovely addition to the hotel great to relax after lots of walking. convenient for train station just a short walk away. we had a double room, bed was comfortable.

bathroom is very small and also times we could hear toilet flushing in another room either above us or next door.
